Watchaug Pond - 5-3-15
« on: May 04, 2015, 10:17:09 AM »
Fished an open tourney on Watchaug Pond yesterday.

Water temps ranged from 55 in the morning to 60 at 3 PM.

We only found 4 fish in 8 hours, for about 7 1/2 lbs. 3 of the 4 of them were on scattered rocks in less than 3 feet of water. One was in scattered weeds in 4 FOW.

The fish on rocks were all caught on dark-colored 4 inch soft plastics. The fish in weeds was on a bladed jig.

Some guys reported seeing fish on beds toward the end of the day, so the spawn is about to start here in southern New England.
