Smith & Sayles Reservoir - Glocester
« on: July 12, 2015, 12:47:28 PM »
Fished a club tourney here on Friday and had a very disappointing night.

I had pre-fished it twice and caught fish both times but couldn't seem to put a pattern together.

Ended up with 5 fish for the night, but all were barely keepers, for a total weight of a little less than 5 lbs.

I caught all of my fish on spinnerbaits in scattered locations and various depths. Like I said, I had no pattern pre-fishing and couldn't put one together this night either  :'l

Winning weight was a fantastic 16+ lbs., with second place being 15+ lbs. Obviously a couple of guys figured the place out. I just wasn't one of them (nope)

Bummer, but that's my luck most of the time... (hmm)

I have spent a lot of time thinking about this during the last 24 hours and I think I put too much thought into it.. over-complicated it.

I should have put the trolling motor down and covered water. Out of habit, I spent too much time visiting old spots that used to produce before they killed all of the weeds.  (fp)

we've done well the past few tournaments this year. Unfortunately this past saturday didn't turn out to good for us. We finally caught 2 fish mid day for points though  (y).

I think we under thought ours  :)
