2004 Tracker Avalanche w/ 115 Merc
« on: January 27, 2015, 02:03:54 PM »
Looked around for a while and just didn't' want fiberglass but all the aluminium boats were just not big enough.

After many google searches and a few phone calls I found my boat. about 5-6 years ago the last week in January I drove down to VA and picked it up. Drove it back to RI used the snow thrower to clear a spot in the yard and starred at it through the window for a few months.

2004 Tracker Avalanche
2004 115 Merc Optimax
105lb Minnkota
8' Power Pole
Humminbird 898c on the console
Humminbird 788CI up front

My only gripe about the boat is the motor size. With 2 HUGE livewells and all my junk on it I just don't get enough punch to get it out of the hole.

@Mitz I remember looking at these when they first hit the market and loved them. Everything that a glass boat has without the worries about glass maintenance.

If that boat had a 150 on it, I think you'd have no gripes whatsoever  ;)

I have pics from: Installing my Humminbird Fishfinders, Recessed TM foot pedal, PowerPole and installing a new shaft in my Minnkota.

You're right. It is a nice looking boat! I remember when they first hit the market. I looked at them and really liked what I saw. Unfortunately, they didn't stay available for very long.

Is there a reason you didn't want fiberglass?

Is there a reason you didn't want fiberglass?

When these boats came out they peaked my interest because it looks like no other aluminum bass boat. The deck is huge at 8'6" and the amount of storage is crazy.
My first fresh water boat I had for 5+ years and it was a aluminum hull Tracker Mod-V 18 and it found ALOT of rocks because I was fishing new water almost every week and I love to fish the shallows. So when it came to looking at another boat it made me thing of how I fish and how that could be really bad on a fiberglass hull.

It also helped I found this boat for such a deal I wouldn't have been able to touch a fiberglass boat for that price.

Would I buy a fiberglass boat now?. Yup in a heart beat
Would I change my decision now that I have had my boat for 7+ years? NOPE

Plus I'm really easy to find in RI.. I tend to stick out like a sore thumb, haven't seen any others in RI or CT. o/
