It isn't a chore for me.  When I'm not fishing or farming, I'm making baits.  I have so many jigs and plastics that I will never run out but I just keep making more.

I think the issue for me was that I had a lot of other things that I need to do, too. So the extra work involved in pouring, painting and assembling got to be too much.

I still enjoy making my own baits, but I don't bother with the pouring or painting any longer. Now, I just buy pre-poured and pre-painted stuff and put it together myself in the color combinations that I want  :nod:
