Its a digital gauge that you can tell water psi, temp, rpm, trim, gallon used and all that fun stuff. Its the only way to to with a Merc.

Ah, OK. Makes sense now!

@JackJ Thanks for the pic. Are they only available for Merc outboards?

any idea what's involved with a retro-fit from standard analogue gauges on HPDI Vmax Series II - I'm familiar w/ merc motors, but this Yammie is new blood for me

Well when I say I know they make them for Yamaha it was because I have seen the ones like this..  http://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-Outboard-Multi-Function-Tachometer-6Y5-8350T-83-00/dp/B005CXL1UI

I have no clue what it takes to actually hook one up.

Yep thats one of 2 of the ones I have. I did not put them in so I dont know how the previous owner did it. One like the one in the pic has replaced a gauge. Not sure which one. The other one is a little bigger looking and replaced my mph gauge. Definatly worth the money. Charlie knows more about them than I do but I think you have to get a module for it besides just the gauge. Could be wrong. But if your motor is capabale of having a smart craft gauge I highly recommend getting one.
