Champion boats (manufacturer)

Does anybody know if champion boats bought out cobra?  I have a 1999 Cobra Viper and I have some questions regarding the boat and need to find somebody who can help me with some answers

Last I herd they were being revived but not by a major line, but by some independent souls severed from a major line. More history in that name than just about any other!

No, John Storie who was part of Champion (part owner I think) and was owner of Cobra also.  That is why they look similar except for the back wedge shape.  Due to "no compete" he could not copy that part.    The Cobra is a splash of a Ranger 482, with some changes.
