I had an '07 RAM 2100DC that got rear ended on the interstate and was totaled.

Wish mine was a DC

I actually thought I liked DCs, but when I came into the Ranger that is a SC I've come to prefer it as a boater/angler because the second console just gets in the way, the only thing it does is add weight and support a glove box - slight nuisance but I've found ways to get around that. I'm sure my non-boater anglers would rather have a console, but when I go with my buddy that owns a Nitro the console gets in my way as a co-angler - only time it's a bit nice is if it's raining and running fast, it does add some level of protection, but it's not worth it in my opinion.

I've always thought that the DC would be a nuisance too, for the boat owner. I can see it getting in the way a lot

Yes but the DC also helps with weight distribution even though it can get in the way. Makes the boat run a little better on plane.

Hmmm...  (hmm)

How much does that console weigh? Just curious, since I figured it can't weigh much more than 50 lbs. or so. Am i wrong?

Which is why with the Ranger having dual tanks, If I'm alone I only use/fill the port tank or run off starboard first. In TXs, since I'm a skinny guy at < 150#, most of my co-anglers are =>? 200# so that helps level it out.

I'm not sure what the console would weigh, but @ 50 # that is only about 8 gal of fuel equivalent, so dropping 25 gal on the starboard is close to a full persons weight
