First Night Tourney Coming Up!
« on: June 15, 2016, 09:55:45 AM »
I'll be fishing in my first night tourney soon. Can't wait!

The first lake we'll be fishing is pretty weedy, so I'm not sure what to expect. It'll most likely be a lot of topwater fishing, which doesn't really thrill me since the bass don't always want topwater.

But I'm hoping I can find some open areas near weeds so I can fish something other than topwater baits.

We'll see how this all goes...

Do you ever fish a weightless senko or fluke instead of a tops?
If you're too busy to go fishing you're too busy!!

Shhh.. don't say that too loudly  (giggle)

Yes, I fish weightless stick worms at night quite successfully, especially if they're fished in close proximity to weedy areas. I haven't tried Flukes yet, but will be doing that this year too.

I also fish beaver style baits at night with great success. I usually Texas rig them and use a brass bullet weight and brass ticker. I shake the bait and use a combination of dragging and subtle hops. Works great in a lot of different areas and under a wide variety of conditions.
