Trailer Brake Bleed assistant

Well, if you DIY (or DIM Do It Myself) on your equipment like trailers, you've probably had the excitement of bleeding brakes. It's quite similar to bleeding on a car the old fashioned way, buddy sits in the car and pumps the brake, holds pressure, you open and close the bleed valve, rinse and repeat! Well, the difficult part on a trailer is pumping the brake, there is no leverage on the master cylinder like the brake pedal in a car! Til now!

I do enough of these for my buddies in  the club, I devised a neat little aid:


Basically, I had a leftover hitch coupler and ball in the junk pile, grabbed a 2X4, some bolts, nuts, and some washers, and made a fulcrum that allows much easier compression of the brake cylinder. We used it this past weekend to bleed brakes on one trailer, and it worked great.

Feel free to copy my design LOL, make improvements, etc. My only improvement I see thus far is maybe using a thicker 'ram' board as I used a wide piece of 1/2" cabinet ply, and it did exhibit a bit of bow under compression, but otherwise it actually did great.
