I was able to get out on the water at two different lakes this weekend.
I hit my home lake Saturday afternoon, which is just a couple miles from my house. This is a very shallow lake that gets pretty choked up with weeds by the end of June, so I wasn't sure what to expect when I got there, since it's been at least a couple weeks or more since I fished there last.
Sure enough, it's getting pretty weeded up now. And I was shocked to see the water temp at 70 degrees
I also found a bunch of empty beds, so I know the bass there are done spawning for sure.
Ended up catching at least 8 bass. Lost count after a while.
Spent at least a half hour at one spot where the weeds were pretty heavy, but there was some current, so I figured there would be some bass there. Pulled at least 5 or 6 from there, but all about 1 lb. or so. Kept hoping for one big one to bite, but it didn't happen
Either way, it was good to get out there again.
Fished on Sunday afternoon at a different lake and found the bite a bit tough, Landed 2 there in a few hours. Nothing terribly big. Probably 2 lbs was the biggest. No pattern. Just covered water and scratched out those two fish.
Just good to get back out there and stretch the line again
