Built Some Bladed Jigs Last Night

(1/1)

Curt:
I've been wanting to put some new bladed jigs together, so last night I took a little time and put these together  (yes)

I built more than just these three, but didn't want to show duplicates.

I call this one Bleeding Crappie. I'll use it in the coming weeks to imitate Black Crappie as they move in to spawn.

This one's for muddy water at my home lake.

This one's for stained water at one of my local lakes.

Jig Man:
I'm liking all of them.  One similar to the bottom one caught me a bunch of good fish last fall.

Curt:
Thanks @Jig Man I've been using one very similar to that bottom one to catch most of my bass so far this year, including the pig I posted a pic of last week.

The darker one in the middle pic is what my wife likes to use. She caught a lot of nice fish on that one last year, and one so far this year too. Needless to say, now I will have two spares in the boat

By the way, before I fish with them. I add a 4 inch soft plastic swimbait body as a trailer, to give it some good bulk. I buy them from Primary Tackle, who is a sponsor here at BBB.

Jig Man:
That top one intrigues me.  Did you come up with the combo or find a skirt like that?

I vary my trailers from twin tail grubs to flukes to spade tails depending on the depth I want to run and the profile I want.

I came up with that combo myself.

The vast majority of my bladed jig fishing is in 6 FOW or less, so I typically opt for the bulkier trailers. Fishing deeper, or fishing under tougher conditions would be a good time to downsize on the trailer for sure.  (yes)
