Might Try This for Big Bass
« on: March 19, 2018, 05:03:04 PM »
I had some incredible catches last summer on this bait that I got from an Australian lure maker:

I contacted him to have him make me two more, only to find out that he's taking a hiatus from lure making for a while  :crying:

So, I have been looking to find a suitable replacement for it, just in case I lose this one somehow. I found several that might work, but this one really caught my eye.

Here's a video of it in action:

My only problem is with the price!  I never spend $39.99 on any lure... ever! But I have to admit that it has really caught my attention with the creeper wings and the prop in the center!

Still exploring other options. One of them is the Jackall Pompadour, which I have seen in action on my boat when a good friend used it one night. He caught a ton of nice bass in one outing.

Exactly! Just a larger, wider body and a prop on the tail. Oh, and internal rattles too

I still have a couple of the old Crazy Crawlers, but don't throw them often because I prefer bigger baits at night.

The old RI Largemouth state record of 9 3/4 lbs was caught on a Crazy Crawler many years ago!

That Muskie one is massive.   I've been thinking about purchasing the Jackall one, but having a hard time spending that much  :surprised:

Yes it is massive!

Trust me when I tell you that I don't like paying $20 for a lure either. But this one is really nice quality, and I have seen it in action. It catches fish really well!

Or you could always opt for the Crazy Crawler for less than half the price.

I bought one of those Jackall Pompadour Jr's.    Man it looks great coming through the water.    Haven't really fished with it much yet, my son threw it a few times, but I think its going to be a great lure.

I really like them. They are very well built and have a great action in the water. And best of all they catch the heck out of the bass  (yes)
