2011 285 XL - Adding a Port Console
« on: July 19, 2018, 03:06:27 PM »
FNG here, posted in the intro forum, looked around for an answer to this and didn't see one, so I thought I'd ask.

I'm looking at a 2011 285 XL, the boat is a single console but I think I wouldn't mind having a dual.  I've seen where on some boats, certain Tracker and Nitros come to mind, that a port side console is available and can be fairly easily installed.  I've searched on line for an answer and have only found where the plastic "glove box" is offered, but that is obviously not everything needed to add the complete console.

Anyone know or have done this?

I am pretty sure, not 100%, but this boat had to be ordered from the factory as a dual console.

My friend had one, and I have always thought it was one of the best Stratos ever made.

Thanks for the reply, based on what I'm seeing I think you are probably right.

We'll see where this goes!

Some recent models of various brands offer removable consoles. But if a boat didn't come with that option, it's pretty unlikely that one can be added without major work. Or maybe not at all.

Your best bet is to contact Stratos and ask them. Even though they have stopped making Stratos brand boats, they can still be contacted for parts etc.

A good place to try is http://www.bbcboards.net/forumdisplay.php?f=52.  If it is available, I'll bet someone there knows.
