Non Piercing Cull Clips
« on: October 02, 2018, 02:10:41 PM »
Back in July I started testing a new set of non-piercing cull clips. These are made by Accu Cull.

They're called Accu Cull Elite E-Con Cull Tags.

I have to admit that they are a bit on the pricey side, but they work really, really well. And the best prat is that they don't put any pressure at all on the lip or the jaw of the fish.

You can check them out here.

The first time I used them was in a night tourney back in July, so it took me a bit of getting used to. But that didn't take long, and now I can easily open them up with one hand to put them on a fish.

I know the subject of piercing vs. non-piercing cull tags has become a big deal, so I figured I'd share this here in case anyone was looking for a good setup to use.

LOL. I knew you'd comment on this!  (giggle)

I know that you're probably saying that yours are just as good as these. And I'm not disputing that at all. But after seeing how these are designed, and how they put absolutely no pressure whatsoever on the lip or the jaw of the fish, I have grown to really like them.

I just finished writing my review on these cull tags.

I took my time and was pretty thorough with it, wanting to be sure to cover every aspect of what I like about them, and how they worked out for me after making the switch.

I like those clips better than mine, and I am sure those clips are re-purposed from something else, I just need to figure out what.

I bet there is no more than $5 worth of material in it, so a really good profit margin.

I don't have a lot of plastics contacts since I mostly buy steel, but I am going to look into see if I can find or get something made similar to that.

I have talked to the company owner several times over the last few months. I'm pretty sure he developed these himself. But I could be wrong.

And you're probably right. There is probably only a few dollars worth of materials there. But I think he buys everything separately and then pays someone to assemble everything, so there is overhead there for labor. Plus packaging, advertising.

Either way, I really like them.

They look similar to the players card holders that my wife gets at the casinos in Oklahoma.
