Literally jumping in the boat
« on: April 08, 2019, 06:00:37 PM »
I have never had or heard of this happening.....slow fishing day on Okeechobee last week; I am fishing from the bow my buddy is casting from the back. A bass jumps in the drivers seat. Not reacting to either of our baits.....just wanting a ride in a Ranger I guess. Not huge 13-14 inches.......would that be a legal catch? lol

Did you look to see what kind of monster was chasing it so hard that it completely came out of the water.
If you're too busy to go fishing you're too busy!!

Your right.....We saved its life! Water was less than 15 inches, deep currently on Okeechobee, not a lot of room to escape. The ones we did catch were spawning. Maybe a BIG mama looking for love.

That's the first time I've heard of that happening too! Must have been one of those curious bass that wanted to know what that big shiny thing was floating around up there  (giggle)

I've had a lot of Shad jump in the boat, but never a bass :)
