That would be cool to drive around in the woods behind my house, but it would be a heck of a long drive to get it home  (giggle)

I don't recall them ever building those old, original Gators in 6wd, maybe they did toward the end of the production cycle on that style? I really can't remember for sure on that. I do remember the 1st gen Gators had a single wheel in the front aka 5 wheeler. But you CAN lock rear ends on both rear axles so with decent tires they will go thru mud pretty well. (Boy that 5wheeler was USELESS when you locked those rear wheels, it'd just go in a straight line, regardless where you turned the front wheel. The 6wheeler really helped that!) They have no rear suspension so they ride like a buckboard wagon, more utility than sport and they aren't very fast (pvt trans) but they are TOUGH as nails & other than a drive belt every few years, there's nothing much else to do them them but charge the battery, keep the gas in it and go!  (yes) We had several as huntin/deer retrieval vehicles back in the days when my stepfather owned the J-D dealership in Corinth. Later there were diesel versions and someone even made a steel cab for them (Willards dad in OK had one, even had a heater in it to ride 100yds to his barn with.  ;D )

They are pretty heavy and have a really low center of gravity, you'd have to get plum stupid to turn one over. GREAT for turning kids loose with it. Don't quote me but I wanna say they had Kawasaki motors in them? They'll pull a house to! 1100hours aint squat on that tank!!!

And now that I think back, I recall a fan running on the last one we had. I don't recall if it was liquid cooled or perhaps that was an oil cooler fan? But I just remember a fan and thermostat setup running sometimes even after it shutoff so that's why I'm thinkin it was liquid cooled... someone PLEASE tell me I'm remembering correctly? My CRS is terminal!  :'l (angryman) (hmm) (fp)
