Bent shaft

(1/1)

Jason West:
Got a little bend in my trolling motor shaft. How, well we wont go there right now. Are these thing somewhat easy to replace?

Curt:
Assuming it's a MG? That's one of my biggest gripes with them.

Anyway... a friend of mine bent his once, and I even bent mine once, slightly, but was able to straighten it out without having to replace it.

If you're not sure about it, give Nick a call at the Trolling Motor Doctor and he will give you the scoop on the replacement process, as well as give you an awesome deal on the part(s).

I've dealt with him in the past and he's a great guy.

Jason West:
Thanks Curt

Eric Low:
Which model........I have a "parts Motor" 109 tour 45" 2008

getfished:
I've replace one shaft one time. Not really too complicated. You may have to drill out the rivets and get some stainless rivets when you put it back together. When I did mine I put quick disconnects in the wiring harness in the head to facilitate any future needs.  Trying to get by with a bent shaft will prematurely wear your steering cable.
