Title: She is all dressed up and ready to dance
Post by: Jig Man on January 02, 2019, 04:00:50 PM
I've been working on this bait off and on for over a month.  I plan to try it out on Saturday.  I had to build the mold and figure out how to attach the wires while keeping the lead head a workable size.

That's going to be a fish catcher, especially if you fish current.

I don't have any current to fish Jack.  I'm thinking maybe swim it across points or try hopping it down ledges until it gets hung up and lost.

Picasso has something kinda similar, but it only has two blades.   I like yours better.

Gonna call that an "M"-rig?  (yes)

I really like it!! Jack is right. It's a fish catcher for sure.

Well I will have to give you an update after Saturday's trip.

I still have to experiment with the head weight.  It is probably close to an ounce but I have to have enough to cover the wire joints.

1 oz. is hefty, but that'll give you what you need to fish deeper water or use it in windy conditions!

And yes, be sure to let us know how it works out

I fished it quite a bit but had no bites.  I was surprised that even in the rocks it only got hung up 2 times and was fairly easy to get free.  So I guess I'll make some more.

I sent a couple of the out today with one of my high school bait makers and his dad.  I hope to get a report tonight.

That's cool. I'm excited to hear some feedback on them too!

They didn't do any good so no report.  I wish I had had it today.  I caught 11 bass today with 2 really nice smallies over 3#.  It would have been a good time to try out the triple spin.

That stinks. Did they clearly understand that they were supposed to bring them back after using them??
