One of the guys on a local forum listed some rods for sale. He named several brands among which was Gloomis. I happen to be a Gloomis fan. I called him up and asked about bait casting and he had 2.
He lives about 50 miles away so I drove down yesterday afternoon and bought them. I gave $100 a piece for them. They are GLX MBR 844c and GLX BCFR 863c. Happy birthday to me.
They needed a good cleaning. I scrubbed them with Totally Awesome. Today I will be putting shrink tubing on the handles and mounting a couple of Shimano E7 reels on them. Look out green fish.

Nice! I have never owned one but I know they are awesome from all I hear.

I’ve been using them for a long time. They are my basics other than Ark Rods which is a company that produces rods for a lot of major brands. They used to mfg. Falcons and we got special deals once a year. That is gone as the owner got Alzheimer's.

Good for you, Jig Man!
Sounds like a sweet deal, especially for a birthday present!

I mounted some reels on them today. These are stiffer than the IMX rode that I am used to using. They will get my heavy jigs.

I hope they work out for you (yes)
