Wow! Looks like a sweet ride!
Reynolds is where I bought my current boat also. How long was the drive for you?
-
You know what they say about old men....they just slow down.
Looks like a nice ride. Enjoy.

That is one pretty boat. I went to buy a Ranger last year but the way I wanted it rigged out made it $75,000 and they offered me 25% below book for mine so I to drive on down the road.

Ok Ive had her out 4 times now heres what i found
pros......softer ride then the Bullet
better hardware then the lower end older ones
kinda like the 4 stroke power curve getting used to it
really like no oil in the gas
super super super quiet
really simple to drive, really hard to get it to do something bad
a pleasure to fish out of.
massive amounts of storage
cons..... sloooooooooooooooooooow compared to the ole gal *so far 68 is all i can get out of it but I havent been alone yet and shes carrying 4 big mutha batteries
steering is not as responsive
had to unbolt the gas tank cover where the driver seat is bolted to move the adj driver seat 4 inches forward. these boats were designed and built by very tall people.
no hot foot... the under console doesn't lend itself for a comfortable install so Im doing without for now
overall opinion..... a pleasure to drive, solid feeling, but its like comparing apples and oranges the Bullet has a sport car feel, fast responsive did I mention fast and the Range is more cadilacish at my age Im getting to like the fact that my back doesnt ache when i get home and I dont have to spend hours fixing stuff I broke

If you're happy with it, is what counts. (shrug)

Quiet is on nice isn't it? With my Vrod you can talk to the guy in the passenger's seat until the air flow takes your voice away. It sure wasn't that way with my Optimax.

@bullet20dc Sounds like you made a good buying choice
I dont have to spend hours fixing stuff I broke
Definitely a plus. Super fast boats are fun, but that speed always comes at a price.

It's funny how when we're younger we like the loud stuff. But as we get older we prefer quiet (giggle)

"4 big mutha batteries"
Did you go with all group 31 AGM's? I am making a similar transition soon

Quite a while back I converted all my lead wet cells to 31 AGMs (even cranking), and never looked back. I'm on IIRC my 5th season on them, they still hold ALL day in all day windy fishing - yea they were EXPENSIIVE but they last both short term per charge and long term # of years of service. Speaking from experience, I can highly recommend them.
the other thing, I ditched the big bulky charger and went to a Stealth AC/DC pack, gives me AC charge at the motel and on-the-run charge on the water, which I'm sold on helping keep the batteries fresh through the day and helps prevent sulfation due to periods of discharge. That helped offset the extra weight of the AGMs but they're still BIG MUTHA's compared to wet cells.

I've been running AGM batteries for the last 20 years or more. I will never buy another lead acid battery again.
I don't have enough room in my boat for group 31 batteries. But the 2 group 27s are fine for my Minn Kota 80 lb. thrust TM. And the group 24 is enough to run my accessories, my lights and my starter, without fail.
