Title: Key to bass fishing
Post by: Wizard on February 26, 2015, 07:40:23 PM
After almost 60 yrs of fishing, I can say the key to bass fishing is finding forage. Knowing seasonal patterns and movement of bass is a good thing. But, if the forage isn't around, neither are the bass. Study the seasonal movements of the forage and you will consistently catch bass.

Well said.

With reservoirs it might be a bit different than here where I live, where most of the lakes are natural basins and we don't usually have schools of shad roaming around, but even here it still plays a major role in bass location. Find forage, and you find bass :)

That's pretty reliable, but the one guarantee to finding fish is ALWAYS Long John Silvers.
