Title: Gambler Bass Boats?
Post by: Curt on June 04, 2015, 11:01:16 AM
Is Gambler out of business?

All I can find for them online is a store for clothing, parts and accessories.  (hmm)

@JackJ Thanks. A lot of shuffling happening in the bass boat industry with all of the acquisitions in the last few years. Hard to keep track of it all.

Yeah Gambler is still around. But they are called Sterling now. You supposidly can get Gambler stuck on the side of a new boat if you'd like. They dont make many boats though. They are mainly into saltwater type flats boats now I believe. Wish they did have a website but for whatever reason they dont.

@sbg Thanks. The boating industry sure has been shaken up the last few years, with buyouts, takeovers and some companies flat out closing their doors.  (fp)

Even with all that they do build a BAD boat!

Always good to know!

Now, on the other hand, I have heard rave reviews about BassCat customer service!

And I have to say that G3 customer service has always been great for me, the few times I needed it.

I have too on the Basscat customer service. Ive never really had any dealings with a G3 though. Most boat brands do try and treat the customer right though.

Nitro's even come with an apology letter!!!     (pcd)

Ive gotten to deal with quite a few boat mfgs in my years in this business and Between Basscat and Bullet  they are by far the finest people to work with. Always willing to help no matter how big or little the problem is . Awesome folks in both plants.  Sorry David but Gambler Sterling is at the bottom of the list. you're right most of the time wont answer the phone, never call back and basically have a dont give a crap attitude about your problem.  Cant get hardware from them and if you have a warranty issue  get a lawyer  you gonna need one.   Not saying they dont build a great boat, thy do, just dont know why they are so people unfriendly

Pretty sad when you lay out that kind of cash and they won't even stand behind their product  :crying:

Let me see, had my Nitro for 8 years and Zero issues......except when I first bought it and they had trouble matching the second console I ordered because they had changed suppliers. Took them like 6 months to get it right. Meanwhile while I waited I fished with one console and got a $750 cover and extra seat alone with a couple things thrown into the deal free. I don't deal with Nitro directly. My dealer does that. Sounds like pretty good service to me. BTW, I did get a letter.... Apologizing  for having throuble supplying me a console in a timely manner. I seem to remember a very long thread on a board we had of a gentleman have to take things into his own hands because Gambler couldn't fix his transom good enough to stay in his boat.  (2guns) (2guns)

yep ole Doug had to wrip his Gambler apart cause the stringers were broken and the transon was toast  he tried to get Gambler to make good and they basically told him to pound sand  so he removed the boats cap and rebuilt the internal skeleton hiself  Did an amazing job   The man got skills

Hahaha. Gotta poke when ya can. Yeah I remember Doug messing with his. What a nightmare. And really sucks he couldnt get any help from Gambler. But I promise I didnt get mine based on customer service. They just go about it completely wrong. They do have a new 20ft model out. Or did. Had some pictures they released on facebook but its like they quit dealing with it.
