Fished last night from 5:15 PM until about 12:30 AM.
Caught 8 bass up to 3 lbs., with a few of them being nice chunky fish over 2 lbs.
Water temps are starting to drop a bit, but they're still well into the mid 70s.
Hoping to squeeze at least one more night trip in if I can ;D

Sounds like a good trip Curt. I'm day fishing until the moon gets brighter. The lake I fish is not a fun place without moon light. There are no cabins, resorts or boat docks with lights and all the banks look the same in the dark.

I love dark nights with very little or no moon.
Right now it's an evening crescent moon and only about 25% illuminated, but it sets by 10 PM or so. And with clear skies, the stars give just the right amount of light ;)

Good job. Hopefully I can get my boat back today and get out myself in the afternoons before it gets too cold for me.

Thanks @JackJ I hope you can too (yes)
When I was out a couple nights ago, the water temps were dropping steadily after dark. It was 78 when I got there and was down to 75 by the time I left at midnight (fp)
Thankfully, though, the days have been getting up close to 80, with some sunshine, so we gain a few of those degrees back during the daytime.

I was out two days in a row and caught nothing. I was trying every bait in my arsenal. I finally threw a top water popper and wham caught a nice smallmouth bass but that was it for the day. They might be going into a fall mode now, who knows but I was a happy camper just catching that one.

Gotta love a topwater smallie hit!
