Title: Chapman Pond
Post by: Curt on May 07, 2016, 08:33:55 PM
Made a very short trip to Chapman Pond today. The lake is literally only 5 minutes from my house, so it's a convenient place to make short trips to

Fished a total of 90 minutes.

Air Temp: 60
Water Temp: 54
Wind: 5-7 MPH ESE
Skies: Partly Sunny
Depth: 1-3 FOW

This lake is very shallow (Max depth 4 ft.), so it's already starting to weed up pretty good. This really limits the fishability, so the number of different baits that can be thrown is pretty small.

I alternated between a spinnerbait, a Hawgstomper Thunder Jig, a jumbo-sized wakebait, a Salty B-Bug and a couple other baits that I tossed a few times just for the heck of it.

Ended up catching two on the Salty B-Bug. Both were in very shallow water and in weeds against the shoreline.

The first fish was a small keeper. The second one was about 2 1/2 lbs.

Fished for a short time more after catching the second fish and then headed home. It felt good to hit the water again after being in the house for almost a week!
