what do u prefer hard or soft baits while bass fishing
-
Hmm... (hmm)
I guess the definition of hardbaits would have to be clarified before I could answer in detail.
But, more than that, I guess I would have to consider the conditions at hand.
Windy days will probably find me chunking a spinnerbait, buzzbait or lipless crankbait (Rat-L-Trap or similar).
Days with little or no wind will probably have me throwing soft plastics, like the Salty-B-Bug, Stick Worm or similar.
So, to answer your question, Both! Hardbaits and softbaits. (yes)

im more a soft bait user windy days i use heaver weight . i do throw a ratltrap some times but i like fishin the slop lol

My absolutely favorite bait is a jig. I can't even make a guess as to how many hundreds of them I have in the boat. So if a jig is a hard bait, then I use both at the same time {jig with a plastic trailer}.

I never would have guessed that by your forum username (giggle)

i use both, but I think I catch more with soft baits. you can just be a lot more varied with them.

Is a jig with a strike king menace grub a hard bait or soft?

It's funny how much I used to fish a jig vs. how little I fished one the last few seasons.
It seems like since I started fishing the Salty B-Bug, I have kind of lost track of my jigs and fish the Bug in place of it a lot. I almost always still have ajig rigged up and ready to go, but for some reason I never seem to get around to using it as much as I used to.
I don't know... maybe 2016 will be the year that I pick the jig back up and get confident in it again. (shrug)
