Title: Hoping to Spend a Day on The Water
Post by: Curt on April 21, 2016, 10:45:16 AM
Barring any unforeseen circumstances, like brother-in-laws falling from ladders, etc., I hope to spend the day on the water tomorrow, prepping for an upcoming open tourney  (yes)

Right now they're saying cloudy with scattered showers, so it might just be a good day of fishing. I sure hope so!

Great day today!

My tournament partner and I hit the water from 7:30 AM until about 1:30 PM.

Conditions were gorgeous, with only slight breezes today. Much better than any recent weather

We took our time and did some serious scouting in preparation for a tourney on May 1. All I can say is that I'm super pleased with what we learned today

The tourney we're prepping for has an 8 fish limit per team. Our best 8 today would have been in excess of 22 lbs. Winning weight for this tourney each year usually runs in the 20 - 24 lb. range, depending on the conditions.

We left there today pretty confident in what we learned and we will go back and pre-fish once more on Tuesday, before the lake goes off limits.

For the sake of keeping our catching methods protected for now, I won't give any details as to how or where we caught our fish  (giggle)

Once the tourney is over, I'll gladly post a report here with full disclosure. But let's just say that one of my best baits for the day was a product I purchased last year through one of the great BBB sponsors, Primary Tackle ( @Midsouthbass  )  ;)
