Here's some video I shot trying out the Keith Poche Power Spinner. Check it out and let me know what you think.

@Bullet3119 I like the idea and I can see this working on that deep lake you fish. (yes) (yes)
-
Do you know what size blade that is @Scott McGehee ??
Also, when you fished this rig, did you let the bait fall slowly as you normally would with a soft stick bait, or did you impart a little action to it in order to get the blade to move?

Curt,
It looks like a #3. I was fishing with a 3/16 oz wt, so the blade turned very well any time the bait was move. Keith fishes it weightless and gets the blade to turn freely. it's got a very good swivel, so it doesn't take much to make it turn.

Awesome. Thanks Scott (y)
-
Thanks! I think Joey makes those also. (y)
-
Yes I do and sell the fool out of them.
-
@Joey Watts why haven't you recommended these to me? Lol
-
That looks like something to try for sure.. (y)

I do them for 4.25 per 5 pack. I use a # 2 Colorado and a # 3 willow. I also have chart. blades in a 2.5 I could do them in. Cannot believe you have never seen me advertise them.

One of my favorite winter smallmouth baits is a Whirleybee, I've never tried this on a stick bait but it reminds me of the concept.

I've always used this image as a reference and ordered all parts from Jann's Netcraft to make dozens for pennies. #1 swivel, #1 split rings and #2 or 3 blades in Colorado and/or willow. The screw things are called Hitchhikers.

Thanks @Jake Grey (http://www.bassboatboards.com/index.php?action=profile;u=227) Does the lack of a ball bearing swivel hamper or impede the rotation of the blade on that rig??

Remember, you're fishing a worm not a spinnerbait. I don't think the ball bearing swivel is crucial to this application.

Exactly, which is why I am wondering if a ball bearing swivel would be better, to give the blade more freedom to spin on a slow fall.

Oh what the heck, it's only another 50 cents per bait, let's go for it!

I guess I never thought of that aspect of it (nope)

Oh, that doesn't mean I won't do it. I just hadn't thought of that until he mentioned it!

@Joey Watts (http://www.bassboatboards.com/index.php?action=profile;u=192) has my order in, hope to be trying these in a couple of weeks.

I bought a couple of those last summer because they look SO good, but haven't caught a fish on 'em yet (nope)
